Which charge status is decisive when two batteries are plugged in?
The lower charge status is decisive. So if one battery is fully charged and the other is only 30% charged, the runtime corresponds to the lower battery level of the empty battery.
What influence does the ambient temperature have on the battery runtime?
The ambient temperatures have a strong influence on the runtimes of the battery packs. The battery should be used and stored at temperatures between -10 °C (14 °F) and +50 °C (122 °F). The colder the ambient temperature, the shorter the battery runtime. The higher the ambient temperature, the longer the cooling process will be before the battery can be charged at normal temperature.
If the batteries are only half charged, does this affect the suction power?
This depends on the battery packs used. The performance of 8.0 Ah battery packs is stable so that the charge status has no effect on the suction power. With the 4.0 Ah and 5.0 Ah battery packs, the suction power decreases slightly with discharge.
For which application is a cordless extractor suitable?
A cordless extractor is suitable for places where the power supply is poor or non-existent. It is ideal for use in conjunction with a cordless tool. A cordless extractor is better suited to applications where it is not in continuous use for long periods of time. We also recommend selecting the suction power setting to suit the application, e.g. a low suction level for a cordless sander with low material removal.
For how long can I work with the cordless extractor?
The condition of the battery packs, the charge level of the battery packs and the suction power setting are decisive here. Both the CTC SYS and the CTC MINI/MIDI have three levels of adjustable suction power. For many applications, a lower suction power is perfectly adequate, which has a positive effect on the runtime. With the CTC MIN/MIDI in conjunction with the 8.0 Ah battery packs, a runtime of up to 45 minutes can be achieved. As the extractor is not in continuous operation for most applications, you can, for example, shorten 41 doors or extract dust from 152 cross cuts with the 8.0 Ah battery pack.
Is the suction power of the cordless dust extractor sufficient?
Yes. With the installed 36 V turbine, the cordless dust extractors achieve almost the same suction power as our mains dust extractors.
Can I also use the cordless dust extractor with any battery pack?
No, 2x 18 V battery packs are always required. This is due to the built-in 36 V turbine, which ensures maximum suction power.
Which tools can I use with the cordless extractors?
The Festool 18 V system includes a range of cordless tools that can be used with a dust extractor: KSC, TSC, HKC, PSC/PSBC, OSC, BHC, ISC, RTSC/DTSC/ETSC, ES-ETSC, KHC, RSC, CSC SYS, SYMC. Dust-free work when sawing, drilling and sanding is therefore possible without any problems. Dust can only be extracted from corded tools if the tool is connected to a separate power source, as the cordless dust extractors do not have a socket.
Can I suck up water with the cordless extractors?
With the CTC MIDI, you can suck up water using the special wet filter. The CTC SYS, on the other hand, is a dry dust extractor only.
