Notching/grooving with the KAPEX

Preparation/set-up
-
Initial steps
Before notching the square timber or skirting, the following steps must be followed:
Procedure
-
Mark the groove position
-
Measure the groove depth
-
Mark the area to be notched
-
Place the workpiece on the KAPEX table
Note: To be able to notch the entire area of the frame leg, you must position it using a wooden piece (e.g. a 6x6 cm frame leg).
-
Adjust the cutting depth limiter 1/4
You can use the continuously adjustable cutting depth limiter to set the vertical swivelling range of the saw unit. Doing this enables workpieces to be grooved or flattened out.
- Move the machine into the working position
- Swivel the cutting depth limiter lever downwards until it locks. -
Adjust the cutting depth limiter 2/4
• Swivel the lever to set the required groove depth.
-
Adjust the cutting depth limiter 3/4
-
Adjust the cutting depth limiter 4/4
Note: Make a test cut on a waste piece of wood in order to adjust the required groove depth by turning the cutting depth adjuster, if necessary.
-
Open the clamp for the traction device
-
Switch on the laser
Switch on the KAPEX KS 120 laser and place the workpiece on the mark.
-
Switch on the KAPEX and make the cut 1/2
Offset the workpiece by the cutting width and continue to make the cuts.
-
Switch on the KAPEX and make the cut 2/2
Repeat this process as needed until the marked area has been completely notched
-
When this work is complete, you can attach the notched frame leg
