Tips & tricks for sabre saw blades
Extremely flexible with a saw blade that can be rotated by 180°

For sawing close to ceilings, walls and floors, the saw blade can be rotated by 180° – with the extraction adapter, extraction is still possible without any problems.
Proper plunge cuts

Only short saw blades with a length of up to 150 mm should be used for plunge cuts – the exception here is the insulating material saw blade from Festool.
Tip: The best way to make plunge cuts is with an extraction adapter with the saw blade turned 180°.
The right saw blade for flush cuts

The bi-metal saw blades (Universal and Metal) from the Festool range are ideal for sawing flush with the wall thanks to their flexibility.
Pendulum stroke setting

In order to be able to process different materials with optimum feed, the pendulum stroke can be switched on and off on the top of the saw.
Working without pendulum stroke (position 0) is recommended:
- For machining thin or hard materials, such as sheet metal or steel.
- For achieving cleaner cutting edges.
The switched-on pendulum stroke (MAX position) is suitable:
- For machining materials with average strength, such as non-ferrous metals, hardwood, plastics.
- For machining soft materials, such as light construction materials, insulating material, softwood, timber.
